Royals Futbol Club

Royals Futbol Club players, parents, and supporting members of the community came out early Saturday morning, February 2, to 1549 Sale Road, future home of the Royals Soccer Complex.  The meeting began with a tour of the 50-acre facility and ended with a discussion of future steps in moving forward with the project.

The RFC Soccer Complex project, spearheaded by Daniel Paschedag, Director of Coaching, has already undergone several phases of construction.  The club has completed the land clearing, grading, and grass-sowing phases with funds provided by club fundraisers and donations from community volunteers and supporters. Upcoming phases will include the construction of an entrance gate and fencing, installation of an irrigation system, and sowing of second-round Bermuda grass seeds.

Coach Paschedag stated in his comments that “we have a vision for this complex to be used by various programs in our community, not just Royals soccer, whether it be lacrosse or rugby, or other programs that encourage physical activity for Clarksville youth.”  He continued by explaining, “This complex is a great opportunity for the growth of our community and promoting health and physical activity among our young people.”

Anne Murtha, RFC board member added, “Royals Futbol Club is a good, solid club with reasonable fees and great integrity.  What we are doing here is a great opportunity for our community.”  RFC was founded in 1991 to provide affordable, team building and integrity-building competitive soccer teams and strives to “provide the overall strategic framework for the development of players, parents, coaches, and the club.”  Currently, the club has around 200 players, and looks forward to continuing its growth in the youth competitive soccer arena.

Upon completion, the Royals Soccer Complex will include up to nine soccer fields, to be used by teams u8 all the way up to u18, and will boast a concession stand, irrigation pond, and parking facilities.  Plans for two of the nine soccer fields to be completed and used by the club for fall of 2013 are underway.

We are excited to announce our co-operation with the Ballschule Heidelberg. The Ballschule Heidelberg and Heidelberg University´s Institute of Sports and Sports Sience developed a Player Development Program which is based on the specific needs of young athletes between the ages of 4 through 12 years of age. The Ballschule Heidelberg already has co-operations with professional soccer clubs in Germany as well as partnerships with club and/or associations in Brazil, Mexico, Austria, Slovenia, Luxemburg, etc. We are very excited to be the 1st co-operation partner within the United States and to be able to offer our players within our Ballschule (U5 and U6) and Academy (U7 and U8) their proven curriculum.
