Tennessee Wesleyan College women's soccer has signed a goalkeeper in Katie Brown from Pleasant View, TN. Brown attends Sycamore High School where she has been a four year starter in the net for the Lady War Eagles soccer team. She has also played competitive soccer for the Royals FC, 95 & 94 Lady Royals the past two years. Tennessee Wesleyan women's coach Naomi Clarke has many positive things to say about the future Lady Bulldog, "Katie is a lovely girl, she has a bright and positive attitude, she works extremely hard in goal, not only to make saves but to inspire her teamates through her work ethic. I think that Katie is going to come to Athens and immediately push our other goalkeepers for playing time and we look forward to having her as a part of our program in 2013." Brown will look to major in the Criminal Justice and/or Biology fields during her time at Tennessee Wesleyan and is excited about her commitment to the college, "I am happy to say it is where I want to go" she tells Coach Clarke. The Lady Bulldog soccer team finished their 2012 campaign in the Appalachian Athletic Conference Tournament championship game, barely losing to AAC regular season champion Montreat College in an overtime thriller. With the 12-8 season, TWC's best record in Coach Clarke's career at the school, and their most single season wins in over 10 years, TWC has finished in the top two in the AAC the past 3 years and have high hopes for the championship title in 2013.
The Royals Futbol Club congratulates Katie Brown to this milestone and wishes her all the best for her future Collegiate career! Keep up the hard work.
